3-Year Milestones

Our organization is driven by metrics, and we have three major milestones that we strive to reach: scale, quality of impact, and financial sustainability.

Our proposed milestones for the next three years are summarized as follows:

Scale milestones will be achieved through same-district growth, as well as through the launch of new districts. Impact milestones will be closely monitored by our measurement staff, and will be achieved by maintaining or improving program quality. Sustainability milestones will be achieved by significant economies of scale, or a driving down of our fixed cost per farmer as our program reaches more farmers.

Vision

We see a future in which every farm family has the knowledge, materials, and support necessary to satisfy their basic needs. At One Acre Fund, our vision is to become one of the world's most impactful organizations and to serve millions of farmers.

After six years of operation, we have proven an innovative new way to serve farmers, to a "respectable" scale of 75,000 farmers, with more than 300,000 children living in those families. Yet this is only a drop in the bucket compared with the ocean of need: There are more than 100 million subsistence farm families in the world. We are still a young organization, and our current program will be a launching pad to grow a revolution in small-farm productivity in Africa.

• We will continue to grow our core service program to at least 1,000,000 farm families by 2020.
• We will begin collaborating more with African governments to reach large numbers of farmers with agricultural services.
• We will begin franchising our model with extremely large companies and non-profit organizations.
